What type of care is provided?
The home provides assisted living which is help with the activities of daily living. Many Residents are very independent, but need this assistance in the future. Skilled nursing care is also provided which is round the clock nursing care and observation. Residents may move between the different levels of care based on their needs.
How long does it take to complete the application process?
The lifecare application process is usually completed in 30-60 days. The private pay process takes just a few days since no resources are transferred.
Can I have my car?
Although Residents do not maintain their cars here, the home has a full time transporter to provide service for doctor appointments, etc. There are 2 additional vehicles to assist Residents shopping, errands, etc. and many scheduled outings.
Is the home equipped for adverse weather conditions such as a hurricane?
The building was constructed to withstand a category 3 hurricane. There are storm shutters and food and medical supplies on hand throughout the year. Staff are trained to assist Residents to provide the highest degree of safety and security. In the event of a category 4 or 5 hurricane, preparations have been made to evacuate locally.
Should I bring my furniture to the Masonic home?
In the assisted living, most Residents prefer to bring their own beds, recliners, TV and other small furnishings for comfort. Although the home also has the essentials available if needed. In the skilled care, furnishings are provided and Residents should bring their TV and other small furnishings for their comfort.
Does the home have a secure campus?
A security officer is on duty 24/7. There are also security monitoring cameras throughout the campus.
Can my family dine with me?
Absolutely! It’s our pleasure to have them enjoy our food service. Meal tickets are available for $6.50 at the front desk.
Does the home provide cable television?
A full selection of cable stations are provided at no charge to the resident. We even offer daily movies on the in-house Masonic home channel.
What about telephone and internet access?
Residents may arrange for their own private telephone and internet access for the fee charged by the provider. Telephones are also available in several lounge areas. Wireless internet is not currently available, but is being planned in the future.
Are meals provided?
Three wonderful meals are provided daily plus many special events featuring outstanding selections prepared by our food service professionals.
